easiest fix is to make it like Orchard mission - you have to be the only one in the party

However, theres been one or a few people trying to deliberately send perma pre's to post. This person creates new characters with names that are very similar to the ones used by the more well known people of the pre community, gets mesmer secondary asap with the sole purpose of searing as many perma pre's as he possibly can. This person or persons seeks to do nothing but cause as much damage as he/she possibly can.
Even though this is easilly avoided (check who you party with before actually accepting folks!) I'd rather have not to worry who my level 17 perma pre parties with in Ascalon City so I say:

Anet, fix these glitches in pre plz..all of them

hey i agree 100% with you that any 'glitches' should be fixed. i dont wanna see pre being ruined any more than you do.
and beleive me when i say that if i myself found a glitch, i would be the first person to report it to arena net. and yes i know you saw i screenshot of me saying i knew a glitch, but pm me and you may be pleasantly suprised as to why i said that im not all as evil as you would love to think my friend
back on topic, i wanted to thank everyone again for the amazing response i have had from you guys. i have updated my response to arena net with the links to both this thread and the thread on presearing.com so hopefully we will get to see some action soon!

guys just a quick reminder that the rules of guru state you cannot simply type /signed or /unsigned. if you wish to add your opinion you must be involved in the conversation in some small way.

How the hell are people sending tomes to pre when the guild hall travel exploit was fixed long before tomes were even released. What new bug is this?

1) thats extremely off topic (but there are topics on presearing.com devoted to those types of questions)
2) i still havent seen any actual that such items exist, but the theory some people came up with is that a couple of clever (or lucky) guys left characters parked in the guild hall ever since the first glitch, hoping to find some nice items to take back (or being inactive) it would hardly suprise me to see these items in pre however and i have spoke to people who 'claim' to have / have seen them.
3) the other possibility is that there is a glitch i am unaware of. pls tell me if there is and il be the first to notify support
please, if you have any other questions such as these head over to presearing.com and use the Search feature. keep it on topic as this is a serious attempt to get something done about the real problem

lol, I actually posed this question in another thread on Riverside before reading the latest posts in this one. I guess there really are tomes in Pre.
Yes! It's now possible to achieve both survivor and LDoA.
Ok, ok. Off-topic for this thread I know. (Sorry bout that )
Fargus, please let us know if you hear of Arenanet taking any action against the perma-pre kidnappers. I truly hope they close this hole soon.

Anet needs to fix this ASAP, its basicaly an attack on pre - sear chars. I myself am working on ldoa, don't have a secondary so I'm fine. But those that do and are perma - pre, that is not cool

This little "game" is in actuality a pretty serious attempt on the perpetrator to "assassinate" some prominant characters. It's a close to a homocide as this game can get online. If you have seen the presearing threads on this, you see the individual is glaoting over what is happening and the attention it's bringing. give it a few weeks and you will see copycats repeating the exercise. Once it spreads, the entire presearing will become a solo game. nobody will be north of the wall unless they have a trusted guild member to take them or a second account and dual instances running.

As for the timer issue. it exists but our stalker is often waiting for the timer to run down and then inviting to limit response time to less than 10 seconds.

I think there should be a question for the person not accepting the Sir Tydus quest to accept it as well as the person accepting it, seems like the best way to prevent. I have seen people who sit by Sir Tydus and spam they are gate openers to get the perma pres and people going for Legendary Defender of Ascalon, thats why I always make sure the person who I accept as a gate opener is close to the gate.

There is a counter, but it is dependant on how many others are crossing over. If there is no opposing people it goes very quick.

That is not the perfect solution either
Some ppl leave the battle because they intend to go for surviver title and cannot afford to be killed there

There is an alternative......Ashford Abbey isn't that much further from the gate than Ascalon City is, but has the advantage that Sir Tydus isn't there. If you party with someone in Ashford and find yourself being jumped to Ascalon, you have some time to disconnect or leave the party before the little **** makes it to Tydus and starts the quest.

there is a mod script that allows presearing characters to go to the guild hall. BUT it is not allowed and if found out you will get your account banned... So don't bother....
Basically the mod copies the script function of the goto guild hall button on G and places it as a overlay button on your screen... then you press it in game with G open and ZIP off you go... Hit return as normal and ZIP back to presearing you arrive. Its a problem... the guys selling bags in presearing now that are 10 item bags (IE since charr bags can not be sold) and tomes are obviously using it...
PS it reminds me of the Cantha overlay buttons they had at E3 some years ago... that took you to different maps directly... I'm wondering if its source is a former Anet employee or alpha tester? IDK. I saw a SS of it one time and was like WTH? Now I see why it was made. Go figure... It will be detected sooner or later... And they will be banned for it...

I just finished some testing and i was totally surpised of the results.
This must be SOOO clear that this is not working as intended.
Action: Not accepting secondary profession = Safe
Action: Not taking or abandoning follow-up quest (path to glory) from saberlin after completing secondary profession = NOT safe
Action: Not completing Saberlin's quest after accepting secondary prfession = NOT Safe
Conclusion after accepting a secondary profession you are vulnerable to this griefing no matter what you do or don't

Theres more then just griefing that needs to be fixed in pre...i'll give a good example of what else is going on...
a couple of days ago, early in the morning, about maybe 2:30am Central time(i have insomnia so im usually on about then) i saw an A/R lvl 13 in pre Foible's Fair (or whatever that place is called, i can never spell it right)
Yes, a level 13 Assassin/Ranger. I clicked on them and happened to notice this, but before I could fully read their name they ran out the portal.
So not only do we have problems with griefers in pre, i think we got some other hacks/bugs that are taking non prophecies characters over FROM post to PRE. Anyone see an issue with that?

/Signed This is a deliberate and vindictive action I would liek to see address in the proper manner by GW authorities. The sooner we get soem GM's in game to sort out some of the rubish that goes on the better. The support sytem for reporting could do with being more user friendly also.
